Interior Ministry on the radio about dope

Interior Ministry representative Irina Poroshina on the "Morning on Baltkom" program. MIX TV
Informative, but the hypocrisy is slightly annoying, frankly speaking.

“Tobacco is not the best example, but”

Yeah, right, they have to hide it and bashfully keep quiet about the fact that it is exactly the best example, because it's more dangerous and harmful than many “drugs,” yet it's legal.

“The decriminalization initiative didn't pass, the Saeima listened to the experts and rejected it”

The experts are probably all from the exact same crowd, close to the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

And the broadcast itself doesn't provide a platform for the opposing side. By default, the creators are on the government's side.

Why does the Interior Ministry rep, speaking in rather precise legal language, call marijuana a “narcotic” when it isn't one, but is instead a “psychotropic” or “psychoactive” substance?
